TC11 Titanium Bar Welding Proformance
(1) TC11 titanium alloy is suitable for use in welded structures. To prevent oxidation, fusion welding should be performed with protective inert gases (such as argon or helium) or in a vacuum environment. The welded joint must be free from oxidation discoloration, such as light yellow coloration.
(2) Due to the alloy’s significant thermal response during welding, special post-weld heat treatment is required. This treatment not only helps relieve residual stresses but also ensures the stability of the weld’s structure and properties, as well as those of the surrounding metal. It is generally recommended to perform annealing followed by air cooling or furnace cooling after welding. Annealing should be carried out in a vacuum furnace or an inert gas chamber; the use of a flame spray gun for annealing is strictly prohibited.
